Protests and campaigns emerge in Jharkhand amid Hemant Soren's potential detention

As the 13-day remand of Hemant Soren comes to an end, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is concluding its interrogation, raising the possibility of the former Jharkhand Chief Minister being sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar today. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced a series of protests and campaigns in response to what they claim is a conspiracy by the BJP-led Modi government against Soren.

JMM workers plan to go to the jail in solidarity with Soren, and a fasting campaign has commenced as a form of protest. Simultaneously, a Nyay Yatra, aiming to inform people about the alleged conspiracy, is set to begin in every district and reach Panchayats by February 20.

The JMM, voicing concerns over the arrest, alleges that the BJP misused central agencies to target Hemant Soren due to his rising popularity. The party claims that BJP leaders, anxious about their political standing, conspired to tarnish Soren's image and disrupt his political future. A media trial is also cited as part of this alleged campaign.

The JMM emphasizes Soren's commitment to schemes benefiting the marginalized, and during the Nyay Yatra, efforts will be made to convey the party's perspective on the situation.
